House of Interpretation was founded by Freek Roels. Freek grew up in Bruges, a city where every corner holds a piece of history. Early on, this connection to place and its many layers sparked his curiosity. After studying at Sint Lucas in Ghent, Freek began exploring how interiors could reach beyond aesthetics, shaping environments built with intention and coherence.

Over time, his work expanded across borders, with projects for multinationals that sought more than design — they wanted spaces that reflected the unique identity of the people who inhabit them. This path led to the creation of House of Interpretation, where every project starts from the same premise: to create spaces that speak to their context and to the people who live in them, without embellishment or excess.
